Before seeking the opinion of a Real Estate Agent, you can do some initial homework of your own to find a range in which the value of your property might sit.

When your home is on the market, there are several sites that buyers will go to before they visit your home:

• homes.co.nz​

• oneroof.co.nz

• trademe.co.nz

• realestate.co.nz

• relab.co.nz (subscription required for valuation data)

 

Then buyers will compare:

• what they've seen at your place,

• others they've seen on the market, and

• the price ranges they've seen on these web sites:

So, it's a good idea to know what the buyers are going to be weighing up.  You can also check the Auckland Council rating value of your property (effective 1 JUN 2021) on their Property Information site here: Council Value. Some buyers and their banks still like to use this as a reference point, so it's good to know how that comares to the other reference sites.
